Most skilled players can use the staff to win against the bots, as long as they have some skill in polearms. Most characters with some skill in athletics can make it out of the gate. For a character with power throw and athletics, it's trivial to kill everyone. Not every character can avoid being captured if his disguise fails. If you can't handle the guards, you should not be trying to sneak in.
